This Privacy Policy describes how SkillCache ("we", "us", "the site") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. By using this site, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Resource recommendations: the content and optional contact info you submit via the recommendation form
  • MMIC claim: the claim code you tap/enter to unlock access (only its hash is stored — never the code itself)
  • Any messages you send us directly by email

1.2 Automatically collected information

  • Log data: visited pages, timestamps, referrer, User-Agent, language preference
  • Cookies & localStorage: to remember your access state and preferences

2. How we use information

  • Grant and manage MMIC access (via hashed codes)
  • Triage and verify community resource recommendations
  • Analyze traffic and search performance via Google Analytics
  • Prevent spam submissions and abuse
  • (If advertising is enabled in the future) serve ads relevant to the content

3. Third-party services

This site uses the following third-party services, which collect data under their own privacy policies:

  • Vercel (hosting & CDN)
  • Sanity.io (content management)
  • Supabase (access-code verification only)
  • Google Analytics (traffic analytics)
  • Brevo (email delivery for notifications)
  • Monetag (advertising, once enabled)

4. Data retention

  • Recommendation submissions: retained as long as needed for triage and cataloging; contact info only for follow-up questions
  • Hashed access codes: retained until the code is rotated (monthly)
  • Access logs: retained per hosting-provider policy (typically 30 days)

5. Your rights

  • Access & export: request a copy of your personal data by email
  • Deletion: request deletion of your submissions or personal data
  • Decline analytics: disable JavaScript or use an ad blocker to block analytics scripts

6. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

7. Policy changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be prominently announced on the homepage. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
